this is what i found in tqi's blog. how true.. ties in with my 'memories' entry. hais...

"once i caught a fish alive" is a very deep song.

1 2 3 4 5
once i caught a fish alive
6 7 8 9 10
then i let it go again
why did you let it go?
because it bit my finger so
which finger did it bite?
the little finger on my right

see its like saying that this child caught a 'fish'
and just when he was so proud of it
he _had_ to let it go.
many ask "why?"
because it hurt him. he had no other choice.
he was brave enough to let things go.
and "little finger" tells us that the damage, though it hurt, its just like a nip on your little finger
one day, it'll cease to hurt
one day, it'll come to be so small and insignificant
you might forget about that little "fish" which bit you,
but a mark will always be there to remind you
that not every "fish" is friendly
and the memory will teach you a lesson
to be more careful the next time you go fishing.
